When selecting a free-standing cabinet, it's important to consider a few factors. If the area requires washing down and the cabinet needs to be moved, casters are a must-have feature. You have the option to choose small wheels, like those found on a refrigerator, which provide a minimal gap between the floor and the bottom of the cabinet. Alternatively, you can opt for 4-5'' wheels that leave a larger gap, allowing a mop or broom to fit underneath without moving the cabinet. To maintain stability, it is recommended that the depth of the cabinet be equal to or greater than the width of a single door. In cases where the doors exceed the depth, a tether must be used to secure the cabinet to the wall, preventing tipping. Cleanroom cabinets should feature a sloped top for easy cleaning and visual inspection.
